Having applied for the exhibition
opportunity separately the curators at NCCD saw the potential of a more diverse
showcase with both makers involved. Stevie and Bethany were excited to take up
the challenge and collaborate to produce a new body of work that takes
influence and inspiration from each others practice; this was the start of
‘Gallery Garden’.
After five years of practice Stevie had started to progress her design and production processes to create large sculptural installation based works. Bethany, after two years of practice, was developing ways to improve her large scale work, both technically and aesthetically, and explore unconventional display options for these pieces. Both felt that the opportunity could develop their work into new areas and be the start of something very exciting!
